We have here a very attractive 1963A* U.S. FEDERAL RESERVE $10.00 STAR NOTE. It has the BRIGHT GREEN SEAL that distinguishes it from the other series of that era, a must for any small note collection. It was issued during a very historic period for the United States . The 1963A has the signatures of Granahan and Fowler. It was printed just after the last year of President John F. Kennedy. Lyndon Johnson was the new President. It was printed from early 1965 until mid 1969. It would have bought over 40 gallons of gas! Now days it might provide two and a half gallons!
Book value for the note is $35.00, but retailers and Shop at Home TV often charge more just because they are so old and the LIGHT green seal is unusual. This note is sharp, bright, clean and crisp with no tears, writing, ink, missing pieces, etc. It has extraordinary color. It is perfectly clean and shows only light handling in the form of flattened wrinkles and a couple folds. It has sharp edges and corners. I'd rate it at CRISP CHOICE VERY FINE to EXTRA FINE, but you be the final judge with the photos which you can enlarge.
